Socket and switch replacement in Monmouth for damaged, loose or dated fittings. We fit new sockets, USB sockets and modern switches, and check the wiring behind each one. Quotes are free.

Cracks, scorch marks, a loose faceplate, plugs that fall out or a socket that feels warm are all signs it needs changing. Damaged fittings can expose live parts or overheat, so it's worth replacing them rather than living with them.
As well as straight swaps, we fit sockets with built-in USB chargers, weatherproof outdoor sockets and finishes such as brushed steel or black nickel. Swapping several at once is a quick way to update the look of a room without having to redecorate it.
Many smart switches need a neutral wire at the switch, which older homes often don't have. Dimmers also have to match the bulbs they control, especially LEDs. We check what your wiring and lights can take before recommending a switch.
Tell us how many sockets and switches you want changing and the finish you'd like. We can usually price simple swaps from photos, and we give you a free quote before booking. Moving a socket or adding a new one may need a quick visit first.
On the day, we isolate each circuit, remove the old fitting and check the cables and connections behind it. If anything is damaged, we show you before going further. Each new fitting is tested, and you get a Minor Works Certificate where the work calls for one.
Ring us or send a few details about the job. We aim to respond the same day, with no call-out charge.
We come and look at the work, then give you a free quote with no obligation to go ahead.
We finish the job, test every circuit we've worked on and leave you with the right certificate.
It depends on how many fittings you're changing, the type and finish, and the condition of the wiring behind them. Swapping several in one visit costs less per fitting than calling us out for each one. We give you a free quote before any work is booked.
Replacing a like-for-like socket isn't notifiable, but it still involves working near live parts and checking the circuit is safe. If you're not confident testing the circuit afterwards, it's better to have an electrician do it. A scorched socket also needs the cause investigating.
Usually a loose connection, a damaged socket or an overloaded adaptor. Stop using it, switch off that circuit at the consumer unit if you can, and call us. Heat and crackling can lead to a fire, so it shouldn't be left until it gets worse.
Yes. Extra sockets can usually be added to an existing circuit if it's in good condition. We check the circuit first and fit new sockets where you actually need them, so you can rely less on extension leads and multi-way adaptors.
We change sockets and switches in homes and businesses across these areas.
Send us photos of the sockets and switches you'd like changing, and we'll come back with a free quote.
